Opportunities in the BMed Lab
If you are interested in becoming involved in the Behavioral Medicine Laboratory, please contact Dr. Potter (katie.potter@umass.edu) with any questions about current projects in the lab, graduate student responsibilities, and assistantships. Please include a summary of your research interests and attach a resume/CV to the email. We look forward to hearing from you!
The mission of our lab is to find innovative ways to promote sustainable physical activity and to improve mental health, cognitive health, and social well-being. Current projects in the lab are investigating how dogs affect physical activity and health-related quality of life. We are interested in recruiting students who are interested in the human-animal bond and dog walking research, but certainly welcome applicants with broader interests, including but not limited to the following:

-
Contemporary physical activity behavior change science, including studying the role of affect, habit, and identity
-
Interventions to promote outdoor physical activity (e.g., dog walking, hiking, gardening, outdoor play)
-
Yoga and other mindful physical activity interventions
-
Dance and other social physical activity interventions
